As we suspected,
this contest yielded some surprising images. Many went beyond what
we could display on this page. We already have the honor of being
banned in Iran. I suspect a few more countries, as well as a few of
our own states, might have had us on their hit list if we showed all
of the images we got. What was reassuring was that photographers
from around the world all seem to have the same sense of humor.
We chose
"Belly Dune" by Lynda Lester-Slack as the
Grand Prize winner. This beautifully executed image was exactly what
we had in mind when we posted this contest. It is a gorgeous image
that has all of the sensuousness of a good nude, BUT it isn't!
Congratulations to Ms. Lester-Snyder for her wonderful image. She
wins a

Eric B. Green of
Norfolk, Virginia and his image "Presents in the Afternoon"
were chosen as First Runner-up. Mr. Green shot this image for
use on his wife's soon to be released book of the same name. The
image suggests a nude, but do we really know? Mr. Green will
receive a year's subscription to
PhotoTechniques magazine.
"Hide and Seek" by
Abdul Kadir Audah
of Germany won the Second Runner-up position with his humorous image.
Again it kept to the spirit of our contest, suggesting the nude with a
twist thrown in for fun. He will receive a year's subscription to
The Art List.
