BADGER:Taxidea taxus Hurricane, Utah This animal is unlike any other mammal in North America. It's very long and sharp front claws are used for digging rodents out of their burrows and for digging dens in burrows of their own making. While primarily nocturnal animals they can be found out early in the morning as well. It's habitat is open grasslands and deserts.
