The natural forest floor, interlaced with roots, ground covers, mosses, and ferns, creates a sponge which acts like a moist reservoir perpetuating the hydrological cycle of evaporation and rain. This process of transpiration through leaves controls the distribution of life giving water. These steadfast workhorses of the planet also provide shade, shelter and beauty for all its residents.
