Tip of the Week

Plastic covers for dog food cans make perfect lens caps for the 82mm filters on my telephoto and my super-wide-angle lens. The Hartz brand plastic can covers sell at 2 for a dollar and come in several colors at my local market. I keep all my tools and lens-cleaning gear in a small snap-lid plastic food storage box. This fits into one of the outside pockets of my camera bag. A padded and insulated six-pack carrier makes a great film carrier. One of the best disguises for a camera bag is a large baby diaper bag, one of those covered with pink bunnys and cartoon ducks. Drop your camera bag in a large diaper bag and zip it up. It will add an extra layer of insulation on a hot day and nobody is going to break into your car to steal a diaper bag. All of these plastic accessories can be found at your local market or variety store.
