Tip of the Week

Bicycle shops carry a great selection of handlebar tape. I keep my tripod legs wrapped with red cloth handlebar tape. You can find foam-backed tape and cork-backed tape, in many colors, and the price is reasonable. When the temperature drops below freezing, you will appreciate this extra bit of insulation. Many photographers use large-diameter pipe insulation. I’ve found that it can be too bulky and the mail-order tripod leg wraps are slippery and expensive. Try one roll of cloth handlebar tape on just one leg as a test.
