The Photo Contest: Reflections

This was our biggest contest with the biggest award we have so far had. We received wonderful images from all over the world. It was very hard to decide which one ranked the best.

The Grand Prize of a five-day safari with Tawayama Safaris is "Musical Harmony" by Heather McFarland. For us, this image was notable for the beauty of the lighting, and the way the sheet music reflected in the horn. This shot took some planning and effort. The composition is superb. The result is a testament to the beauty of music. Congratulations, Heather.

We chose Stephanie Brown's image, "Sunset Reflection" as first runner up. The lighting and the strong graphic shapes are what caught our eyes.  Stephanie will receive Compupic Pro from Photodex Corporation.

For second runner-up, we chose "Tower" , by Balazs Dibuz. The rich color and the concept are what made the unique image stand out for us. Balazs will receive a year's subscription to PhotoTechniques.

Please note: Once again we received a very large number of exceptional photographs by photographers who did not send in their submission forms. Your photo will be disqualified if you do not get the form in to us. We allow extra time for forms to reach us from overseas, and we have provided a fax number for those of you wishing to submit in that manner. Thank you to all of you that figured out how to send in your forms via email. It makes my job a lot easier!

 

Also many of you are sending your images as ZIP'ed archive files. Please do not do this. It does not minimize file size and creates more work for us. Your image will be eliminated from the competition.

 

And one more thing! If you are a MAC user, please remember you must save your images with the proper extensions, i.e., .jpeg or .jpg.
