Death Valley – more photographs

Keane Wonder Mill  – This is one of the mining processing areas in Death Valley. Ore was brought down from the mine by cable and processed in the Keane Wonder Mill. There isn’t too much left here but it is with a sense of awe that you have to admire the hard work miners put in to scratch out a living from these hills.

Artist’s Palette – The mixture of ores in the area of Artist’s Palette gives vibrant colors to the hills. Late afternoon or near sunset is a great time to see this Death Valley phenomena.

Salt Creek – Salt Creek is the home of the desert pupfish in Death Valley. It provides life for these fish and several unique plants and insects. In March, as you walk along the boardwalk into the salt marsh, be on the lookout for these small, guppy-like fish.
